Founder Christen Becker has dedicated her career to supporting students in STEM and environmental fields. She has worked with students in these fields at every step of their academic journey from Pre-K through graduate school and has a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges students may face at each step of their academic experience. Since 2013, Christen has focused her attention on serving high school and college-level students who are interested in pursuing degrees and careers in STEM and environmental fields. She has experience with academic and career advising, student recruitment, and college admissions.
With a background in STEM, Christen is uniquely qualified to support these students. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in science and can relate on a personal, as well as professional, level to the unique considerations of the undergraduate STEM experience. She also has real-world professional experience in marine biology and environmental science and has engaged in laboratory and field research in a number of settings. She is deeply familiar with the varying requirements of STEM career paths across industries and disciplines.
Christen has a B.S. in Aquatic and Fishery Sciences from the University of Washington – Seattle and an M.Ed from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Dedicated to lifelong learning and professional development, she is currently furthering her education in the University of California Irvine’s Independent Education Consultant graduate certificate program.
